One of the causes I encourage you to donate to on my behalf is the Canadian Bible Society’s Bike for Bibles program.

Bike for Bibles originated in 1984 in Australia with three cyclists, and it now takes place in many countries, including Canada. Money to provide Bibles for those without the Word of God is raised through the sponsorship of cyclists. By participating in Bike for Bibles, people of all ages, walks of life, and denominations can achieve fitness, fun and fellowship with a Christian purpose.

Each year…

• Funds are raised for Bible distribution and translation projects
• Countless numbers of Bibles are placed in waiting hands
• God’s Word speaks to people’s hearts and changes lives

The funds received through the 2010 Bike for Bibles rides, will be used to impact the lives of Canadian military personnel and their families with the strength found in God’s Word, through Operation Bible.

They face destruction, unimaginable chaos and grave danger – who are they? Brave Canadians in uniform and they need God’s Word!

For more than 50 years, CBS has been providing Bibles to Canadian military personnel and their lives continue to be touched by the Bible’s message of hope. Military chaplain Charles Deogratias says, “The impact the Bible has made in our soldiers is beyond imagination. It has changed their lives – you have to listen to them when they come back to us and say, ‘Padre I just read the Bible and I just told my friends back home and now they think I am crazy, but it is so nice to have the Word of God with me to comfort me through this tough time.’ Chaplain Deogratias continues, “The camouflage Bibles from CBS are a gift of God for our soldiers.”
