The Hakka translation team at work

Another worthy project you might like to donate to on my behalf is the Hakka Bible in Taiwan. Four million Hakka people live in Taiwan (pop. 23 million). The name Hakka means “guest families”. Only 2 or 3 Hakka people in 1000 are Christians. Until recently they have never had the Bible translated into their own language. My Dad has been working with a Hakka translation team for over 25 years. In 1993 the Bible Society in Taiwan (BST) published the Hakka New Testament and Psalms. In 1995 they published the book of Proverbs. Since then, the team has been translating the rest of the Old Testament. In 2012 the BST hopes to publish the complete Hakka Old and New Testament Bible. Your donations will help support the work of the translation team as they finish their job, and help the BST to do the final printing.
